My top 3 from February
DO: Focus on race simulations and conservative race plans to prevent cramps. The intensity and duration of exertion during races is more likely to result in cramping than any issues with electrolyte intake.
MAYBE: Use a pre-sleep HRV measurement to assess autonomic balance, and if necessary, perform some sort of relaxation or breathing exercise to promote parasympathetic activity. HRV measurements before bed appear to serve as predictor of sleep efficiency.
DON’T: Use supplements that are not batch tested or from sources you trust. Undeclared doping substances were found in 38% of the products tested in a study.
