My top 3 from MAY
DO: Focus on executing a pre-race nutrition plan to improve race performance. Most female IRONMAN® athletes failed to meet carbohydrate loading targets in the days before a world championship race, and that higher carbohydrate intake was linked to faster finish times.
MAYBE: Skip heat training if you are preparing for a course in cool conditions. 5.5 weeks of heat acclimation training reliably produces physiological adaptations relevant to hot-weather performance, but does not improve VO2 Max or time trial performance in cool conditions beyond what is achieved through normal training.
DON’T: Trust AI chatbots with complex and important health questions. Nearly half of all responses (49.6%) were problematic, 30% somewhat and 19.6% highly, with nutrition and athletic performance attracting the weakest performance.
